NEW ROSS – Mrs. Grace Evans, 83, of New Ross died Tuesday afternoon in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was a member of the New Ross Christian Church and prior to 1917 had worked for The Review. Born Dec. 26, 1890, in Coles County, Ill., she was a daughter of Samuel and Flora James Smith. She married Harry P. Evans at Waynetown on Jan. 10, 1917. He died in 1968. Survivors include two sons, Thomas S. of New Ross and Pete Jr. of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Muriel Ashby of Rockville, Md., and Bertha Gott of New Ross; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Walker Funeral Home at Jamestown with burial in New Ross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today. – jlr
